My 1 row cultivator Pics.

When it comes to certain things, I'm the ultimate cheap skate. I wanted a 1 row cultivator for my sweet corn patch , but couldn't bring myself to buy a new one. So with a little steel laying around the shop and a few hours of vacation time from work and some shanks I ordered online, I welded up a quick one. Here's the pics.

looks great, you did a fine job!!!!!!

picture of mine, it came with a set of fenders that bolt to the center section.

but, who needs fenders, i have never been able to cultivate really small stuff with it as i can not seem to stay on the row.

always looking back and off to the right or left.

i use mine to loosen up the soil then use my little hiller to put the dirt to the row.

I have a small Fergy TO-35 tractor,

i have found that making my rows 42" wide works good with the small cultivator, more room for the tires and my wild driving.

Again, you have good welding and metal working skills.

Maxwell99,
Thanks for the compliment. I would like to have a set of hillers like you got. I am planning on mounting some hillers either on a toolbar w/3 point hitch or mount them on the back crossbar of the cultivator so they can slide back and forth for with adjustment.
I plowed up another acre today for corn and I'm itching to blow the dust off of my JD 247 corn planter, so I can try out this cultivator.
Thanks for the photos you shared as well as the insight on using the implements.

scott, if you make a set of hillers, you might as well make two sets.

one for you, that you store behind the barn.

the other set, you will need to weld on a lic plate mounting, because all your neighbors will be wanting to borrow them and they will on the road a lot.

my hillers are currently at a neighbors house and the old dude is like a kid with a new toy,

when by his place the other day and his whole truck patch area was hilled up in rows.

but i told him, do not plant on those hills, when it gets dry the plants will dry out.

i only use the hiller to throw dirt to the plants and cover up grass.

i say yes, build yourself a set of hillers, you will enjoy them, great little tool.

please make a picture of your hillers when you get them built. with your skills, would like to see what a professional job you do on the hillers.

am sure they will not be like mine, just cut up an old disk and use the back two blades of the rear gang. But it works great.

Actually your wrong about that Showcrop. The cultivator was tacked together with my Century 225 amp Wire Feed Welder and was completely welded together with a 225amp Lincoln AC welder using 6010 rod. I'm from the old school and use stick on my implements for greater penetration and less metal preperation with rusty metal. Old habits are just hard to break!
