I asked this question before but didn"t get a response so I"ll try one more time. Will the seed boxes from a White 6100 fit the planter units on a 5100? I would like the bigger boxes but don"t know if the mounting base is the same. Anyone done this?

The clips that hold on the boxes on the meter base are much heavier on the 6000 as compared to the 5000. I have both models in the shed, not sure without looking but that might prevent a simple switch.

I didn't mind the screw on lids myself, better than the early deere/kinze lids that would blow off going down the road when they got broke in.

Looked at both planters today, without pulling the boxes to get a tape on them they look identical. But the capacity is practically the same on both boxes.

I think there is a half bushel difference. and the lids should be different. the 5100 has screw on lids and the 6000 has sliding lids.

Just getting away from those screw on lids would be worth the change. I hated them!

As far as I know they are the same size meter base. I have a 6 row 5100 and a 6342 12/13 splitter I will check it out tomorrow when I get to the shed.

Apparently no one on here. When I researched putting the larger seed plate drive hubs from a 6100 (and newer) on my 5100 it certainly appeared that the base mount was the same size, but that's just a guess.

Thanks guys. I need to replace 5 of the 6 boxes and would like to go with the bigger box.
