Working for a guy with a 5020 turboed 11 shovel kewannee chisle . it seems to start jumping on the left side . what is the better set up ? if you ad weight that will just break stuff ? Then who ever had it befor put all the shovels so they turn in to the middle . What is the corect way to put them on ?

I had a Kewanee 13 ft probably just like you are working with. It jumped, it lurched, it did the hola, everything but going straight and level. When we got it it had the curved shovels, we put on the straight points but no difference. Finally after about 10 years of jumping around a friend told me I should get an old DMI chisel plow as they don't jump, I did find a good used one and sure enough it did not jump, it just stayed in the ground and did what it is supposed to do. We have heavy gumbo in places and no jumping, so not all chisel plows are built the same.

Drop her down a gear. When you get tired of the slow going, replace the shovels. Worn shovels is my first guess.

If the points are worn they loose their suck to keep it in.

The answer is slow down, at least it is here in southern Iowa gumbo soil.

I always point twisted shovels toward the center. If facing out, you leave an untilled strip in the middle, and tend to strip on the sides cuz you"re driving beyond the thrown dirt.

Is it level front-to-back and side-to-side?

Are the tires inflated to "spec"?

Are the chisels the correct angle for the machine?

Have you tried slowing down a little, or even speeding up a little to see if it will settle down?

it looks to set level both ways , tires are hard , could use new shovels ? and i found out that this hasnt been chisled this deep . so its hard pulling . just have to let off the juice when it starts .
