Have a quick hitch on my 4020 John Deere think they called them cat 2 or 3, its a heavy one from the 70's. This one is not John Deere after market but like I said heavy. Had a guy ask me today if I take a $100 for it. He wants for his snow blower. Thought worth more than that. Maybe $200 any ideas on what they are going for? The guy said he could buy a new one for $100 but that would be cheap steel im sure!

A new Jeffers Cat 2-3 quick hitch is $219.00. They do not loose much in value. If you never use it then sell it for $150-175. I would keep it myself.

The $100 QH is quite a bit lighter in weight and construction than a JD. I'd guess yours should sell for $250-$300

Seems like he's low balling you, and trying to excuse it by saying he can buy a new (but much weaker) one for $100. Northern Tool sells a Cat. 2 for $150, a Cat 3 for $400.

If it's something you use, keep it. If you never use it and it gets in the way using the tractor for anything else, sell it but don't let the guy low ball.
