Hi guys,
Is a Minnesota 250 gravity box really 250 bushels or is the 250 just a number? It has no extensions on it.
Thanks

Mine has the foctory extensions on it, I've seen every 250 with those on, so not an 'extra' but the normal top piece?

I've gotten very close to 600 bu loads with the pair of them in good dry high test weight corn, I believe I was 608 for my all time high. Typically they run around the 250 each mark on typical corn.

This does not include 2009, when we had the 30-36% corn around here and 48 test weight. It was no fun shoveling the corn out of them, parked them & used the smaller wagons that almost emptied themselves in those conditions. Think I had 436 bu on the pair that trip.....

Almost a stretch- best I ever got was something over 495 (dry) on a pair of 250s, over the elevator scale. I put 2x8 wood extensions on mine. Corn always needs to be dried here- so I tally loads in the combine and just figure 200 bu dry per load.
