Concave disc coulters any good in cornstalks?

Was wondering if the concave disc coulters work in heavy cornstalks or do they plug easier than the straight ones. I don't chop my stalks unless I absolutely have to. I am looking at a White 588 plow with them on.

Used to own an IH 700 plow, without concaves it wouldn't plow stalks. With concave coulters it would plow nearly as well as a 720 with more clearance. Well worth it.

Back when everyone used a moldboard plow, the Oliver/White plow was the one to have here.
I think the curved coulters do plug easier than the straight just because in certain conditions there is more resistance to their being able to penetrate and cut. And obviously they can't be mounted to swivel like a straight coulter because that would defeat their operation.
I think the 588 may have the heavier coulter mounts. Keeping them in good repair was a challenge on some of the models as there is so much strain on them. Plus they add more side draft to a machine which is already plagued with lots of side draft.
As with all else in farming- everything depends on everything else! Do you combine or pick corn? Plow in the fall, or spring? Corn varieties make a lot of difference.
A benefit I never even considered with my newer combine are the "chopping"/ knife rolls. They made more difference in my corn stalk residue/challenge than anything else I have done.
