Dodged a Bullet From the Old Tedder

One of the stars had a little too much play in it since I swapped one in from my parts unit a year ago. This spring I had adjusted the shimming but it was still a little too loose. I kept telling myself that I was just worrying too much, but this afternoon it got the better of me so I dragged it in and tore into it again. Good thing I did because a bearing was missing. It had stayed with the one I had taken off and didn't come with the one that I put in. There was a sleeve for it to ride on that was slopping around and had some bad cracks in it. It probably wouldn't have gone an acre.
