I have a mid 50's KBL disc harrows that needs new disks and bearing boxes. I actually have the operators manual, so I have the part numbers. I am trying to decide whether to attempt repairs or sell it to the scrap yard and buy a working, rebuilt set of harrows. Anyone know if these parts are available and if so, where?

Thanks

Call this guy. He rebuilds the KBA disk and has the parts in stock. Call him and you'll be surprised on the prices.

I need part KK 4646 B, which is a Box, Bearing, Front Half. I haven't taken it apart, but that part is visibly broken. A local implement dealer said he could rebuild it for me, so I may have him take a look at it to decide what to do with it.[/quote]

KK4646B isn't listed in a KBA parts cat # 375 but here's the part #s for the brg halves and spool

KK6003B BRG BOX-FRONT HALF ADD 81.00 USD

KK5971B BEARING SPOOL 1 1/8 GANG BOLT ADD 100.00 USD

KK6004B BEARING BOX REAR HALF ADD 81.00 USD

Anywhere you can find Amish you will find a source for KBA disc parts. In PA they are building new KBA's and have all the parts for them. But you won't find them on the internet.

Disks are generic, just need the right type of hole. There was a place in Pennsylvania a few years ago called Groffdale Machine that was producing K-series bearing parts, but I don't know if they are still in business. Does Deere still have them??? I'd check . . . you'd be surprised what's still in the warehouses.

Deere had the parts about 10 years ago. The kid at the computer couldn't find them, the old parts man was walking by looking at something else, looked at what I had brought in, reached around the corner of the parts isle & sat the bearings on the counter in front of me. Not cheap.

Shoup (nail order, on-line) also had them at that time, tho they no lonfger show up on their parts lists, they had them....

But that was 10 years ago....
