Brush hog bogie wheels?

I have a 4 foot Ford brush hog on an 8n.

I would like to put 2 bogie wheels on the front outside that will adjust up and down for height.

I would appreciate some pics, or details on anything you have done like this.

Thanks.

It would be much easier to just put height control chains on the tractor"s three point hitch. Ferguson even made a special toplink that did just that. It has notches on the top side and a bar with chains on each end that hooked to the three point pins. You move the bar backa forth to adjust how far the hitch will go down. I found a picture of the top link.

Ferguson may have been the first to offer a special toplink.

I know Servis Equip. AKA Rhino Equip. had a Rooster Comb toplink as an option for 3pt new rotary mowers back in the 60's

Check with your local farm store, there is a kit, that you can get, that consists of a pair of chains, with a key hole slot cut into the end link, one end mounts to your toplink pin, and you adjust slack in the chain, to limit how far your mower can drop. AC had the best set up, in my view, they had a thick toplink piece, with about a foot of sawtooth rack, that a special inverted v, attached to a chain, rode in. It gave a lot of adjustment, yet was easy to adjust, and hook up.

Didn't even think of a limiter chain. Good idea and certainly easier than mounting wheels.

I am in the process now of fabricating the chains, so thanks guys.

I appreciate the help.
