Got some pictures of my tractor & mower, and how the mower is connected to the tractor. Notice that the 3 point hitch is not involved in any manner.

The mower hitch installed in place of the fixed drawbar.

The hitch as fabricated. Yes, it does have a slight bend caused by hitting something solid when backing to relatch the cutter bar! The bend does give the cutter bar a nice agressive lead, so it's not all bad!

I like it. No supper long pto shaft and no chance of oops I raised the three point hitch all the way.

Nice work on the drawbar hitch; very good idea.

Are you able to use the hydraulic lift cylinder on the mower with your Ford 3910?

Brought home a box of 15/16in. rivets; let me know if you need any.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us.

John Deere dealer sent me a dozen rivets along with the sections I ordered, so I'm good for now! Thanks much for the offer. The cylinder on the mower is a JD original with the stop collar on the rod! the 3910 has the closed center load sensing remote valves with flow rate control and detents. I am able to slow the flow down so that it doesn't snap the bar up and cause rattle on the pitman! When I want to lift the bar, I just pull the handle up and let go! Same with drop! Makes it easy on the mower and on me! I'm assuming that the JD cylinder was designed for the lower pressure of the older tractors, but the pressure in the Ford system has not bothered it. Just as a point of interest, I have a pair of the hitch brackets for that mower, that are designed for tractors like yours. I am not sure which exact model though. If I remember correctly, they look like they may be AZ 3273 H & AZ 3272 H, or AZ 3560 H & AZ 3559 H. Not really sure.
