Dry fertilizer injector knife question

I'm putting together a IH 180 planter with a 101 fertilizer unit for my Farmall 140. I need some sort of an injector knife to lay a bead of fertilizer alongside the planted seed. Does anyone have a simple solution? Maybe like some kind of a PVC pipe strapped behind a narrow chisel point? Thanks OB

On my second 7000 I used stainless steel pipes, cut from a milk pipeline, to replace the original JD pipes when they rusted through.
