Hay wagon for NH311

We have a NH 311 and there is no way that i have seen to attach a hay wagon. I have looked through the operators manual and havent seen anything besides a hay thrower and it shows a hay wagon behind it, but i cant tell if they had some setup where another tractor would follow behind and catch the bales (which doesnt sound very safe) orvif there is a bracket that allows you to hook up a hay wagon. Thanks

311's had wagon hitches! Same type as a new baler; But some use a straight pole, others have bends in them. If You want to see pictures...

1) Go to external_link
2) click on "Round Balers"
3) Click "New Holland"
4) Click "311".

Exactely how it mounts; I cant be sure; But its a round tube about 3, or 4 inches in diameter, pinched together at the wagon end, a flat peice of steel about 1/4" stuck in the end, & then welded together for added strength. It was optional on all balers. The only ones I havent seen a hitch on are the 1/4 turn chutes. Obviously the hitch would be in the way. I have the product literature for the 311; but they show a very small picture of the hitch from the side. If you go to external_link You might look up the 316, 310, & 315.

I had a 315 with a straight pole mounted to the frame between the tires, & attached to the crossarm under the bale chute. Directly on the opposite side of the frame is where the Pivot Bolt should be for the tractor drawn swinging hitch! But may not be! I assume the mounting the brackets to the wagon hitch attachment are welded on at the factory weather the pole is added or not!!! Hope this helps. Scotty

In the 1st posting I said Click on 2) Click on "ROUND BALERS"! BIG MISATKE! IT SHOULD BE...

"SQUARE BALERS" To early in the morning I guess! Sorry

For most of these balers the wagon hitch was an option when purchased. Find one if you can in a bone yard or look at one and fabricate one of your own. It isn't difficult.

Go to external_link, under New Hollands parts look at the 311. There is figure listing for "Wagon Hitch & Bale Loading Chute", you can see the parts for the wagon hitch there...

Just picked up a 311 myself, if you need pictures of the hitch on the baler drop me an email...
