I am not sure if golf carts are implements or not but I have a question. What is a good brand of older cheap----- --- er I mean inexpensive golf cart? I don't play golf, I just want one to putt around on. Should I look for and all electric or should I get a gas job? Are the old Harley's any good or what should I be looking for? Thanks for any and all info.

get a gator. so much handier. i just bought a cx model real small and just 9.5 hp. wife loves it in the yard and i carry it to tractor shows and use it to get around on. got 55 hours on mine already. small and ease to manuver and rides good. i sprayed the floor board of mine with undercoating and then put floor mats on it. i also put the nylon seat covers on mine from lowes for 25 each and the are cool to ride on and protect the seats. i put the under penning up about 6 inches on the sides of mine to keep from cuffing up the sides with my shoes.

I looked at a golf cart a few years ago ended up with a cushman turf truckster. I've been very satisfied with it. It is similar to a golf cart in size but was designed as maintinance equipment. 3-speed transmission, Hi/Lo rear end, hydraulic dump bed and a pto. We've use it to haul feed, fire wood, the kids and even took it to a tractor party last year and was accepted as a tractor because it had the pto. I bought it at auction for $1000.00 from an equipment dealer that specializes in golf coarse equipment.

For what they cost you would be better off getting a JD gaitter or something of that sort. Golf carts seem to at least in my area sell high and not be worth a dime. Now if you just have to have one sorry they are a pain in the back sides. I know I have both battery type and gas type and now are worth any thing to me

i have an 01 yamaha gas cart, bought it from a cart shop, refurbished, with a a pick up type bed that flips over to a rear seat. 3800.00. real nice cart. have seen carts go at auctions last year for between 800 and 1k for decent looking gas carts. i prefer the gas carts, the old harleys were 2 stroke, for reverse the engine ran backward. parts are still available for the engines.
