My new sickle blade came with a regular section on the end. It was suggested that I replace this with a section and 1/2 to minimize clogging at the outer shoe. There is an old type of section, with baldes of different heights and my parts store had a newer replacement section with 2 skinnier sections but both the same height. Will each of these work equally?

Also, should the gaps in the stone guards and hold down clips be adjusted when the bar is horizontal? I think there is a difference when the bar is in the transport position.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

if i were you use double cut end section prefer heavy (thicker section) if new sicle is that tipe for trouble free operation. the one that is mention may work if you have no rocks and sprouts to cut otherwise breakage can occur.

I have used them both. For some reason the section with different lenghts seem to last longer. I would not rwelace it right away. I would wait until the one you have in there beaks ar wears out
