Went to a junk yard and found these. A mccormick cultipacker and a cultavator how much do you think they are worth 100-150? I plan on getting them home! Also does anyone have a brochure or a manual for the mccormick deering?

Thanks taylor

Nice find, and hopefully the bottom side is still good. I like the cultipacker, has the same style wheels as this 12'-0" double roller Brinley I'll be pulling over 60 acres of oats next week behind the drill while my neighbor plants, weather permitting. I just did some tree removal behind another neighbors house and messed up the lawn a little, but as soon as she dried enough, took that cultipacker, over seeded and rolled it, sure saved me some hand work, another implement on my want list .... did a nice job.

If the cultipacker is all there & the bearings are in good enough shape, that is a $300 item to the right person, $150 would be a real good deal.

The cultivator seems to be a real old design, 'here' it would only be worth $100 on a good day, but we are more farming, not so much hobby farmer area, so might be more in a better location with a little tiny bit of elbow grease on it...

An organic vegetable farmer should have vert good use for the cultivator. Can't tell if the color is rust or red, the Dearborn and also Pitsburg that was also identical were red, Ferguson Grey, I am not sure but think the company that made them under the Pitsburg namd made them for Ford And Ferguson as I know they made a conversion kit for them to ad a row on each side that was a fold up unit so you could cultivate 4 wide rows and they could be set to cultivate any number of rows in any of different widths. On the Dearborn the frame was 1/4" different than the Ferguson to get around Fergusons legal requirements, also the length of the shank was 1/4" different. Forget the actual measurements but go out and measure because I have both a Dearborn (tag on frame rail) and Ferguson (tag on 3 point mast)

That cultipacker should be worth a couple hundred dollars, at the very least. Once it's cleaned up, gotten a new tongue and the bearings are greased (hopefully they don't need to be replaced, but even if they do you're still OK money-wise), you maybe could get $500 or more, depending on how much of a local demand there is where you live.

Don't know much about the cultivator, but sounds like the other replies you've gotten have ID'd it.

I hate to see old implements scrapped. Even if they're in no condition to work in the fields, they've almost always got useful parts on them. Thanks for saving these!

Proves beauty is definitely in the eyes of the beholder. I was given/asked to take a 8 ft double gang cultimulcher, that had a couple of partially broken wheels. Didn't like it setting around and had the opportunity to use it on a friend's acre of cloddy ground which didn't justify dragging over the good 24 ft machine . He had other stuff laying around so didn't care if it stayed after I finished. A good example of "regifting" which agreed very well with my attitude of "good riddance".

The cultivator is either a Dearborn or a Ferguson and orignaly they had 11 shanks for cultivating 2 40" rows of corn and had a pair of fenders to keep from covering the small plants. They can be set and used as a light duty field cultivator.
