I didn't know anyone produced something like this, and therefore(because I have heard of all kinds of equipment, and am hardly ever stumped) am asking if anyone here can ID this for me. general year/make/model would be great. I knew they made pull type rototillers later on, but never knew of anyone building one this early. It seems like it is strong framed, but the actual rotating parts seem feable.

I am half tempted to put it in the dirt in this freezing weather, just to see how it does.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help on this one.

:) Would it possibly be a Seaman? :? I THINK that the "Seamans" were around in that time frame. They did make a big unit mounted on dual wheels that was powered by a "Detroit Diesel" (then badged as a "GM") I remember one coming to the farm pulled by a Farmall MD when I was a kid!

Well, I feel really stupid.

I picked it up in the dark, and was looking all over the thing for some kind of tag. There was a mint condition tag on it, right in plain view. I must have looked right at it and not seen it.

It turns out that it's a T28, 28 inch Till-Master rotary tiller, made by Climax Engineering Co. in Clinton, Iowa.

It was made in 1946 or 1945 and is pretty rare.

I figured it had to be pretty rare, as I had never seen anything like it before. There are a few pieces of literature and ads for it on ebay. I'm going to try to buy them.

Thanks for the guesses. I looked into all those other manufacturers and would have been really stumped, had I not found the tag.
