I and also a friend of mine have a 346, Baler does great except when we try to bale long stem stuff like hay grazer or johnson grass. The hay goes underneath the auger and the auger just rides up on the hay. If we are in mixed hay, it does ok, but long stem hay it gives us problem.
Everything else does great on the baler.
Any ideas or suggestions
Thanks
JM

Tx Jim, yes the belts are tight, the auger does not slip it will just ride up on tight of the hay. Just does this in stemy hay, other hay it will work perfect.

Is drive belt tight? I've seen where 1/2"/5/8 " lock washers were driven on the auger flights at the split in LW to add some traction for feeding problems.

It helps if the crop has been thru a mower conditioner as it breaks up the stems. The long sticks do not like to feed well, even in some round balers.
