Ford 530 needles

Anyone have a pair of needles for a Ford 530 baler they'd be willing to sell? I can get new ones for $245 each but I hate to put $500 into a baler I only gave $700 for! We can probably weld one if I can find one, but the broken end is missing from the other. I'll probably find it with a tire. Or if someone had at least 6" of the end of a broken needle I could probably weld up the other broken one.

I'm not even sure what happened; I was just baling along when it started missing. I shut everything down and started to look it over and I noticed the needles were broken. There aren't any marks anyplace where they hit something and it never made a noise, just stopped tying. We just parked it for now and started rolling up some donuts to get it picked up before it gets rained on.

Thanks.

Time to find a parts baler....
I've got needles for the 532 that are probably the same, but I'm not parting with them.
Better check the chain tension on the knotter drive AND the brake tension on the yolk. Most likely the needles got slapped when they both broke like that.

I actually do have a parts baler and wouldn't you know it, the needles are the ONLY thin missing! I'll check the things you suggested, thanks.

I have a 532 and just priced a plunger knife. Not much difference - I think those are about $240 each. Gonna try to get at least one out and sharpen. No way am I giving that for a knife.
