Shipping a combine

At the very least some added outriggers seem like a good idea. That thing was rocking way more than I would feel comfortable with.
 
Wow. How do they know the boat's capacity is great enough to carry the combine without sending the combine to the river bottom???
 
I was an engineer on a cargo ship delivering US aid to Kenya back in 1979. The cargo consisted of 10 wheel dump trucks and a Grove hydraulic crane. The longshoreman broke the battery terminals and I watched brand new IH dump trucks being towed off the pier by fork lifts with the air brakes locked tight. The chief engineer on the ship was from Maine, he jumped off the ship and started the crane and drove it off the pier. He couldn't stand the abuse they doing to the trucks.
 
Necessity is the mother of invention. Although this looks shocking to most of us it is probably something they've done many times before - looks like they know what they're doing. Gotta admire their resourcefulness and skill to do what they need to do.
