John deere 45 headgasket

Hi where is the best place to get a headgasket set for a john deere 45 with a 145 engine thanks Joe

The best place probably John Deere, the best value that is your call. Did you try a local NAPA or other auto parts store? After a little convincing and talking to the manager I bet they could come up with one or the set. How about the YT parts department? If you open the more when you poke the Parts button at the top you will see the combine models are mixed right in with the tractors. However for the 45 they do not show any. You could try their parent company All States Ag Parts see 1st link, scroll to the bottom for a phone number. There is also a place called Olson Gaskets that gets brought up here quite a bit, I have personally never bought from them they are in WA state, 2nd link.

If it is the deck plate engine it is the same as the 2010 tractor. There was an older version of the 145 engine that was normal style engine. And the deck plate 115 engine from the 1010 or 49 combine could be converted to a 145 engine just by replacing deck plate and pistons or the 165 engine used on early Square back combines same way. Probably cannot replace just head gasket on a 145 deck plate engine, but have to replace all gaskets. Been too many years but I am thinking the same bolts that tighten the head gasket also tightens the deck plate. If I would dig out my books could tell you exactly on that.
