While trying to put away my JD 4400 combine after harvest, the gearshift would not shift into reverse. When removing the gearshift boot, I found one of the ball joints (part# AH76556) had come apart and needs to be replaced. Both the cables are fine. What is the best/easiest way to replace these ball joints? Try working through the top of the gearshift or pulling them down from underneath the cab so there is more room to work? This is the first time I've had issues with this and to replace these since I purchased the combine in 2000. Any & all assistance is appreciated.
