We are currently running a 6620
sidehill and are thinking of up
grading to a case ih 2166.
Wondering on what people know
about the up grade and if any one
knows about using a bish adapter.
And if any one knows if the 915f
head I use now could be used on
the 2166. Mainly the guidance
system. Thanks

Don't know if sidehill is different, but made my own adapter with $75 worth of steel. They tell me there is a adapter to go from JD to CIH, but I run the head manually. Set it down on one end and usually never needs an adjustment from one end to the other. I do roll my bean ground so it is free from humps and valleys.

If 915f means it is a 15 ft. you will not need auto header height. 2166 has a rtc (return to cut) button on header height. Go around end and hit button. Header lowers to exact height it was. There just it not that much variance across 15 ft.

I hear what your saying my question is Is it possible somebody makes a adapter to go from dail a matic-return to cut

You're going to have an awfully hard time keeping a 2166 full with only a 15' platform. I run a 20' late 1020 and really should be running a 25' even in 60-70bu avg beans, the machine moves right along. RTC function is not auto header height control. Look up a company called Headsight and see if they offer some type of conversion. Bish also offered different things as well besides just the adapter plate.

with a 15 ft head you will always be having a rear wheel in beans when opening up, if you don't watch close. We run a 25 on a 7720 and 30 on a 9610 the 96 is wide and with duals on have to watch you don't run some over with the drive wheels. I cut up close to the corner then back up a couple lengths, and angle into get a double width. Then back up so I can swing the head without knocking beans down when I turn the corner. then repeat at the next corner. Though some of the fields with a waterway I can just stop there and turn around or back up to return and cut the corner open.
