Opinions on this 525 combine . I know nothing about them . Been sitting back off road , I see they moved it out closer to road to do some field tiling. Always wondered why they didnt use it much ,same for the John Deere with corn head , thats there.?

Love mine. Its never let me down.

I had one for a while. Not a bad machine, but very limited capacity. Flathead Chrysler wasn't the easiest starting engine.

The one I had ran a 6 cylinder flathead Chrysler... I've never seen one, but I understand a 318 was optional.

The 318 was in the 535. I was thinking they went to a valve in head slant 6 in the 525, but couldn't say that was an absolute fact.

The 525 is a 251 Chrysler flat head straight 6. 80 horse. The standard engine in a 535 was a flat head 265 inline 6 with the 318 offered as an option. And the 318 was standard in the 545 with a 310 Waukesha being considered as a diesel option but with only 1 known prototype constructed as a Cockshutt.

!967 ran a 2890 doing custom work. 1968 ran a 4296 again doing custom work also worked for a MM dealer.
2890 MM = 525 Oliver / Cockshutt 251 flat head built in Canada not the same as US built water passage between block and head
3496 MM = 535 Oliver / Cockshutt also 7300 White Base 265 Flat head, optional 318 V8 early used poly head, late used wedge head, optional 354 Perkins diesel
4296 MM = 545 Oliver / Cockshutt same power as 3496
5297 MM = 5555 Oliver / Cockshut 318 wedge No diesel no muffler pipes both exited on the RH side
7600 and 7800 Believe both were 318 only no diesel was rumored the 310 Waukesha was the chosen was never installed. Could not sell without a diesel but some were traded.
8600 and 8800 8600 natural 354 Perkins 8800 354 turbo Perkins
9700 Axial Perkins 640 V8 turbo
We sold some 2890's, 3496's and 4296's and one of the 4296 was diesel.
Because the 5297 and 76/7800 were not diesels we could not sell them once the 86/8800 had the Perkins we sold a lot of them even pulled some out of south that they could not sell due to drought.

Friend of owners said they would sell them gave me a phone number but I cant do the project 525 project.
They were surprised somebody would want it.
I guess they use to raise hogs and used John Deere for corn. And the Oliver for grain what he said
