I was gonna pull this with my Uni 706, but

I am chickening out for two reasons-
1. I do not think the drawbar on the 706 Uni is made for tongue weight.
2. I test ran it on the 3010, and it barely had enough hydraulic capacity to lift it empty. The 706 does not seem to have as much capacity as the 3010. I know these are run on seed corn pickers, but most seed corn pickers are hydro models with what I assume would be much more hydraulic capacity.

Do now what? Cut it down and turn it into a scrap dumpster?

it has a telescoping tongue. You can mount a hydraulic cylinder to push it back, or you can unlatch it and roll forward with the picker. I was also thinking that I could jackknife it to dump. But I ll have to see if the Uni can even operate it before I worry about that.

The hydraulics has nothing to do with the
hydrostatic system. That doesn't mean your
hydraics has e ought to dump it, just that
the two are separate. I would think your
uni will dump that as many pulled them with
uni systems. Try it and see what happens.
Start with a partial load and work up.

Didn't the elevator on the uni pickers swivel sideways? If so and would swivel enough just pull it along side with a tractor that will handle it and switch wagons or stop to dump it. Otherwise if it will adjust on the tongue to clear then just go to work. The tongue is stout enough to pull it and hold it up.

I wonder how it would effect turning by trying to slingshot that thing around on a headland?. I picked a load for a neighbor with
mine once in an old bolster steer wagon. It whipped around so fast that when the tires got sideways under the wagon, it tipped
over. My concern with that trailer would be how it would whip the uni once you tried to straighten out.

The neighbor that use to custom pick with
a uni by me had a dealer bring a new unit
out to try.He told me that it had a
retracting hitch that he had to let out
before dumping. Was told it had its own
hydraulic pump and system as the uni
system was not large enough. Had to still
turn a little before dumping. It didn't
work out for him. He kept using wagons. He
owned 10 wagons and by noon the farmers
couldn't keep up.Wish he was still around
to ask.
