Combine Capacity

How many acres a day do guys using small combines cover? By small I mean 100hp or less. In what crop/yield? I took a 660 Case out to salvage some beans in between some fresh tile runs and seemed to cover about 1 acre an hour in 50 bushel beans, and it got me curious about real world capacity.

My Deere 105 in 80 bu. beans with 13 ft. head was cutting about 2 acres per hour. That is with stopping to unload. Even in small grain we cut about 10 acres per day. Usually not that much in corn as I have to stop and unload some wagons. Tom

Welp myself i never did beans just small grain and corn LOTS of corn with a 300 Massey and a two row #24 head . as long as they could keep me with some place to unload a truck or gravity wagon and ya had best have enough of them i could munch thru around 35 to 40 acres of corn in a day and small grain as long as it was standing good 25-30 acres a day and again if they could keep the grain away fast enough . That little combine loved corn and you could run second gear two third up on the variable . i would run way over 300 acres a year thru it between my crop and custom . my one customer the first year i told him to make sure we had enough trucks and wagons so i did not have to set and wait . So he bought his one gain truck and parked it out by the road and took two gravity boxes to the back with is 4240 . I did not even have the field open when the truck waqs running over and both wagons were stuffed full and here i am setting with a full bin . Rusty shows up and see's everything is full and i am having a coffee and the combine is shut off . He comes up to me and said i''l got get Ronnies truck and my brothers truck and run everything in and get them empty . So i set for another half hour waiting . well Ronnies place was just down over the hill and he brings his truck up as he was going to drive it , So i empty out and go back to running corn and by the time Rusty gets back Ronnies if FULL i mean full and i have a full bin and when he pulls in with Dan's truck i dump and go back to combining and the two of them leave for the LONG drive of 7 miles to the elevator . Tow more quick dumps and now dan's truck is full and i am setting Here comes his oldest son to take the tractor and wagons in and i am once again full and setting and he tells me that he will run down to uncle dan's and get his two wagons and tractor then take the first load in . Once we got a system working i kept there 350 Bushel grain trucks running and two tractors and four wagons on the go just as fast as they could do a round . we were in some really good corn for our area and off that little 300 Massey it was shipping the best samples of any with 0 dockage .
