Mine is the 706 with the 354 Perkins.

Ripped off from bookface Uni harvester page -

Uni power unit info:
701: early ones (1965) had 244 Red Seal Continental engines, if I'm not mistaken some 221 Chrysler in the mix. Approx 70 horse, updated to 292 Chevy around 80 horse in 1966(?)
702: 401? V-6 GM engines, first diesel models as well, 110ish horsepower. Famous for burning because of chaff in valley of the V.
703: Replaced the 701, 292 Chevy around 90
704: Replaced 702, still big V-6 gas.
705: Diesel GMC V-6, 120 horsepower
706: 354 Perkins non-turbo, essentially replaced 703, New Idea got away from gasoline firetraps. 80 horsepower.
707: 354 Perkins turbo. 130 horse.
708: The machine that changed it all. 354 Perkins, 135 horse turboed, HYDROSTATIC. Revamped cab, controls, and hydraulics. Changed frame, fuel tank location and mounting brackets. Mid production RWA available.
709: 426 Allis Chalmers, 175/185 horse in exact same chassis as 708.
801: the first big dog, 426 at 175/185 horse. First of "large frame" units, first machine able to run 23.1x26 or 18.4x34 tires. Built specifically for 818 combine, 838 husker and 858 sheller units. Higher ground clearance, wide axle extensions.
800: replaced 708, 135 horse, some came out set at 155, PTO, mounting bracket and park brake updates.
802: replaced 709, 185 horse, same updates as 800.
803(A): replaced 801 with same 800/802 updates, 426 turned up to 235. Limits of 426 had been reached, had a very poor reputation for reliability. Their cranks were also not heavy enough to handle the PTO loads on one side of the crank and hydrostatic loads on the other side. Many broke cranks as soon as a bearing spun.
800C: the space age gray colored Uni's begin: 5.9 Cummins at 155 horsepower in the same frame as the 801/803 (running the larger tires too), but with complete control center updates. Many more electronics, many servicing simplicities. Replaced the 800.
802C: 5.9 Cummins intercooled at 185 horse. Replaced 802 with same updates as 800C.
803C: 8.3 Cummins intercooled, 235 horsepower. Many owners have taken these units over 300 horsepower. Production ended in 1994 I believe.
 
Dealer I worked for years ago sold several. The very early
New Idea Uni had the Continental F244 flat head, then the
Chevy 292 truck engine. I was at the Coldwater Ohio service
schools, never saw the Chrysler 225 slant six used. The
rarest would be the Uni with the Ford four cylinder turbo diesel
like the 7000 tractors have, saw one at the training class but
none in the field.

How familiar are you with the 735 picker? I last used this thing 2 years ago with an old 735 3RN head. I remember having to just CRAWL along in 125-150 bushel corn. I am going to a 4r head because the 3r makes it way too snug opening a field. Of course, one more row has me worried that I am really gonna overload the husker.
 
Brother has a four row Uni picker, but I don't know the model, I think on a 704. He also has two choppers on 708s, and a three auger nine foot snowblower too.
 
Our 708 With the pukins would run a 737 chopper and 3 rn head in silage and run right along. Would make the big horse tractors and the 2 row choppers look sad chopping hay for haylage the wagon was just bouncing behind it. Chopping in second all day long. The knives need to just tick the ledger plate and be sharp the ledger needed to be square not rounded off. We used to shell with the 729A sheller and 4 rn cornhead. Any of this is available for sale to anybody that wants it. We also used to chop ear corn for high moisture ear corn for in the bag.
