A friend of mine just picked up this combine, but I haven't been able to find any information on the unit. Any ideas?

Sorry typo Model 61 IHC.
He is wondering about a owners manual and a bit more of information. Any information you might have would be appreciated.

This is an old ad for a 61 combine. Does that picture look like your friend's combine?

Ron, yes, I did run across this one. And plan to order it for him. I haven't seen the combine yet, But he did confirm to me tonight it is a model 61.. Thanks Ron for the information

Ande,

I noticed today that this link also lists an Operators Manual. You probably saw that too. Keep us posted on this subject. I'm always interested in old combines. We have a non-running Massey Harris 21A at Farmamerica where I volunteer.

Have you ever been to the LeSueur County Pioneer Power Show near LeSueur, MN? They have a running 21A that cuts some grain at their show every August.

I found a bit more information in a book called The Grain Harvesters by Quick and Buchele from 1978. The model 61 was made in 1939 and 1940, had 28 in. cylinder width and 6 ft. header.

There is also some mention of models 60, 61 and 62 combines in the book International Harvester Farm Equipment Product History 1831-1985 by Baumheckel & Borghoff from 1997.

Ron, thank you for taking the time to locate this information, he will greatly appreciate. He doesn't have internet, no cell phone, or cable tv! And you know what, he is just as happy! Anyway, thanks again my friend. Dan

I will Ron, as I need to talk to him again, as I wanted to just order the manual and get it for him. I haven't been too LeSueur, I plan to go when I finally retire! LOL, and bring Hugh with me! I would enjoy meeting you also. Dan
