K2 Question

This might be a crazy question but i thought i would ask, is it possible to put something on a Gleaner K2 to show what the yield is? I know the newer combines have a monitor screen that will tell you the bushel per acre average and I didn't know if anything aftermarket could be put on an older gleaner without spending a ton of money.

You need to find one of those university/company heavily specialized plot combines that are floating around out there! Another idea is put scales under a gravity box. I found an old busted up feed mixer wagon which had weigh bars on it. I had to buy the scale box. And I fixed up the wagon into sort of a grain cart.

A local guy operating as RG Farm Service has a product called Farm TRX that can be installed on any combine. He has a Facebook page called RG Farm Services that lists a cell number as 913-850-8500

I'm sure a lot of junk combines have a yield monitor system . Ag Leader or Greenstar (JD). They all use a load sensor and moisture sensor on the grain elevator , a start stop potentiometer on the head and a speed sensor on the ground drive all wired into the control box (screen).

The K series has a lot modified into plot combines, I dont know if their sensors would apply to a stock K2, as they heavily modify the clean grain system to micro measure very small amounts of grain.

The L and I think M machines can take a still made At Leader system, I dont know if it would fit the smaller K series.

Erik, i spoke to the company and it sounds like they have a good product that is easy to use, i plan on installing one before harvest time. Thanks for the reply and info!
