That pulley is mounted to the motor shaft. Right behind the cap-plate on the bellhousing. Taking plate off should work but it won't budge, can wedge it open..but it springs back. Is it somehow connected to the motor shaft....by the bearing behind it?? How does it come off so we can replace that belt??

here's an image of the area

remove the big nut and 5 bolts. there is two dowel pins two of the bolts go thru could be hanging you . should able to welge
something in between the plate and housing just take it slow and easy it will come apart

yup, saw those dowel sleaves in the 2 bolt holes...but was trying without taking off the big nut..cotter pin is already split...will give in another go..slow..maybe drill through that pin if need be

Plate is hung up on the carrier bearing. Should slide off without
removing the pin and nut. Can be a fight if it hasnt been off for a
period of time. You will have to fine a way to pry closer to the
center to pop the rust and tap the end of the shaft with a brass
hammer to shock it. That being said if it has been on there long
enough to rust up. I highly recommend replacing that outer
bearing cause if that bearing goes out all sorts of bad things
happen.

Thanks for the advice, if its ever been off, it was when new...we've given it a few trys but no luck yet. Foresure all our difficulties are coming about from this bearing. It seemd mounted to or pressed into a pocket on the backside of the cover plate of the bellhousing. Yes we see the two dowel sleaves and we can wedge around them to pop just over them..but that bearing is not moving YET..putting the whole plate under tremendous spring like tension, you can wedge to a point and then everything pops out and it snaps back into place. Trying a puller on the I D of the bearing hasn't worked, guessing it's the curved nature of the inside of the races, one arm always pulls off first. With no room to work, the bearing is still inset behind that plate.. might try cutting the bearing..something small like dremel cutoff wheels...or a sawzall......chisel tips are not fond of bearing metal....if i can get the balls out of the bearing...then the plate should have no resistance and come off.
