I have a 3300 JD that’s having fuel issues. Originally gas converted to diesel. If the machine sits for 24 hours or more it will not start and is required to be bled or use a bucket of ether. There is an electric pump at the bottom of the tank that makes the sounds like it’s working and builds up pressure, how much I don’t know.
Where the fuel bowl is on this is 4-5 feet below the filter. I am thinking the fuel pump, most rated at 2-4 psi isn’t enough to push it up. Or I need to put in a check valve at the low point of tank.
Anybody have any other thoughts?

A couple of suggestions. Are you getting good flow out of the tank? If so, loosen the fuel line up at injector pump level then turn on the key and check fuel flow. If fuel is bleeding back down could there be an air leak somewhere?
