Just tossing this question out there, in hopes of maybe getting an answer.
I need to remove the PTO Gearbox from the rear of the D358 engine, in order to replace the rear oil seal.
I am wondering how to support the right rear corner of the engine, when removing the gearbox. The instruction manual shows a "17-142-1b adapter plate" with an "extension support" being used to support this corner of the engine. However I don't have access to any of these.
Can anyone advise of an alternative method of holding-up this corner of the engine, while removing the PTO gearbox?
