Better way to unload grass seed from 3300 JD?

Have the top metal cover on cross auger all the way up. Pretty much nothing moves on its own without wearing yourself out poking.

thresh the hulls off it and it will Flow out like any grain, if you have lots of sticks it will also bridge

Guess it is a bad idea to remove the cross auger cover? Seems like the unload auger is hard to start as it is, squalls the belt some to get going. Removing the cover might lock it up totally? LB

How are the combines unload systems set up that work so well in fescue seed? We have bunches of JD 9500's running in this area working in the seed harvest and I don't see anyone having a problem.

I have no problem with any seed unless its not thrashed out well or has a lot of sticks in it causing it to bridge,, I cant say for any newer machines though

The few times I’ve harvested fescue seed I always threw a five gallon bucket in the grain tank. One with a lid, and tie a rope to the bucket handle. The rope should be long enough the bucket will lay on the bottom of the bin, but not so long it will tangle up in the unloading auger the bucket is big enough it won’t get in the unload auger. When you unload, jerk on the rope and rattle that bucket around some. It helps break up bridged over seed. This was on a gleaner combine not a Deere.
