I am having problems with the mud hog axle the rear wheels are spinning too fast when in 2nd gear. After talking to mud hog they think it is a problem with one of the switches on the transmission. They could only provide me with a install manual witch was little help.I am looking for an operator and parts manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dennis

A quick search and they have the manuals online, downloadable?

Is this I suppose an older version they don?t cover any more?

Would be helpful to tell us the model or series or some such?

Because they will get just as stuck as the big ones..I had a neighbor
with a 4400 JD and terra rice tires up front..In the muddy wheat
harvest of 1981 he was getting stuck all the time.....So he bought a
Mud Hog and it went lots better..He also added a M&W turbo....
However, that fall we had terrible mud again...He came over to help me...
His brother brought over a 7700 JD with RWA..They both got stuck several
times but never both at once..They kept pulling each other out..

There were lots of F2-F3 Gleaners,715 IH's etc in my area that had
Mud Hogs...They were a necessity..Below is a picture of a neighbor
mudding out beans for me..This was a brand new L2 Gleaner in
Nov 1979..

After reading the install manual and looking ate the axle there is no tags they used the original axle and just replaced the ends with the drive motor ends. My biggest question is how do they regulate the axle speed the valve appears to be only on or off, forward or reverse. There are switches on transmission for each year but they appear to be just on off and to send power to valve

My neighbor had one on a ihc 503. You just adjusted relief valve to where if you held the brakes it would push but not spin. Yours sounds like just needs backed off a bit. You should be able ti spot the relief valve. They were just helpers not supposed to push combine on there own.
