Finally,

Full restoration, as far as I can. I have a 503 for some parts and I do welding and fabrication. Just need a forklift.

Oooooh! 403 or 503? Always wanted one or the other. Any red hillside really. I saw a 1470 on Tractorhouse for cheap & in nice shape. Unfortunately, it's 2200 miles away from here with no header.

I look forward to seeing your progress.

That rear self leveling looks mighty precarious when It?s maxed out on side to side and front to back. It would be nice at times though sometimes the side to side leveling can get a little tricky I just learned to override the automatic leveling and do it manually when you go into a turn so your not waiting for it to ketch up

We just started a similar project on a late model Deere 95. Complete rebuild. Mine was a shedded unit so every thing does come apart easy. Ours is being rebuilt to use. Keep us posted on your project. Tom

Interesting. I didn't know you could override the leveling system. Of course, I'm still learning about those fancy combines.

Those 403, 503, etc. combines actually look a bit narrow & top heavy. I wonder if tipping over was ever a problem?

I?ve seen them on hills steeper than a mountain goat 🐐 can go .if you ever blew a hose or a seal in a cylinder you?d wind up playing a harp I?m sure of it . One of the guys I work for had an mh2 gleaner and there Is one belt on them that runs the whole show and it broke he said only two people knew how bad it really was dad and mother that night when she did the laundry
