Allis Chalmers corn picker

I'm trying to resurrect an Allis 35 corn picker. there are 5 or 6 paddles in the rear elevator that are missing. anyone have a picker rusting away in the hedgerow that would have the paddles? I can get the carrier links at TSC. this picture is one I took at Rantoul 2 years ago. mine doesn't look anywhere near as nice.

thanks, Bob. some used round baler belt will be the default choice, if (as likely) there are no used paddles out there. the chain has most of the paddles to use as templates; there are only about 6 missing paddles in a row on the chain on the picker.

its a single #55 chain. the paddles are only maybe 4" wide, with slight wierd-edged chamfers on the edges. I'll get pictures and measurements this afternoon. the picker is half of the mounted picker that AC made for the WD tractor, with wheels and a drawbar hitch.

Neighbors paddles are 3"x6". Mine are 2.75"x5.5". They have the typical cut out where they are riveted to the link. They are on roller chain, so would have to be removed for use for you.

paddles are only 3 7/16" wide x 2 3/8" high. cute little paddles with "feet" on the out edges, I suppose to help carry any kernels that shell off the ears up the 4" wide elevator. I cut one paddle out of flexible plastic, and another out of a baler belt, minus the "feet", tonight. I"ll see how they work. thanks for the replies.

I have a parts picker. I can see if the paddles are in decent shape.

Send me an email and I will give you my phone number.

The picker in the pictures is not a 35. The model 35 had the paddle feeder in the throat, the early models were just known as the "One Row Corn Harvester".

thanks for the offer. by throat, are you referring to the area under the fan, between the snapping rolls and the auger? my picker, and the one at Rantoul that I pictured, have just a spring loaded flapper to hold the ear down on the rolls.
I haven't tried my picker yet. I made enough rubber paddles for now, still several paddles short of a full set. mostly, I just want to see if it will get the ears off the stalk and into a gravity box. my buddy, who liked to buy "orphans", gave me the picker shortly before he died, because he "knew I wouldn't junk it". I'll send you an email when I try the picker, probably be a few weeks. corn was still quite wet last week.
