More 750 questions....hydro/transmission

Started corn yesterday, put in a full day, back at it this morning and 20 minutes later forward travel hesitated , I stopped, backed up 4 feet then lost all movement, heard some grinding. Worn coupling somewhere I presume.

The pin in farthest coupling from transmission was missing, output drive that connects has 1" free travel. Forward was jerky on the slow 2 mile ride home. Almost home and stops, had to push axle shaft back into tranny, looks like the transmission cover is coming off to see what's up.

AND under cab short shaft, stripped coupling I now see. Had a guy out for 3 hours yesterday that missed it, Grrrrr

Thanks, Where you from? I should be done in 3 days, will start after the next couple cold days pass. Just worn coupler was my only problem, I put on a longer one to get to better splines.

Something else to watch for is on the end of the drive shaft that hooks to the hydro pump is a splined drive hub that is mounted in rubber bushings. Had one of those strip once. On those couplers going to the final drives the book says to grease every 50 or 100 hours but I grease ours every 20 hours or sooner in mud.
