1020 head question

I have asked the fella who sold it to me if he had the remaining part to lock it into rigid operation. He had given me the brackets but per the manual there is another part. In the picture in the manual it looks like a very small version of a 3 pt center link but the only measurement they give is 5.5" between center of the holes. I offered the seller that I would pay him to send it to me if he found it but I suspect they are having loads of fun planting, etc and it is not a priority. In the meantime, I was rummaging thru a drawer unit I bought at an auction and the item pictured was in one of the drawers. Is this something I could use to replace my missing part? Maybe it actually IS one? I dunno...sure looks right.

Maybe you could make it work. Seems like mine is an eyebolt and clevis. Nothing near as fancy as what you've got, with ball joints. I'd have to go look to be sure. I can't do pictures. And I'm on the run trying to beat the next rain! In a couple of days, if I'm reminded, I could check it out. I do know I ordered mine as parts from CNH, as my header came without also.

When you have time Bob, here is the picture in the manual that started me thinking I had one.

Clearly not identical but pretty close.

I did look! What the picture does not show is one end is a clevis. Both ends take 1/2" pin/bolt. So if your link has 1/2" holes, and is adjustable to the correct length, maybe you can make it work.

Well, it has 5/8" holes. I think it is worth a try anyway. If it ever dries out enough here that I can move equipment around I will look see where this thing goes and give it a try. Right now the header is sitting on my trailer still and is back in the woods out of the way. Our lane is so rutted and muddy I cannot get down it safely with the trailer and don't want the combine all muddy trying to go up to the road. I will let you know when I get a shot at it.
