Roll Call !!!

By Roger - Kansas

They did this over on tractor talk. It’s about time we did it here.
1. Where are you from?

2. List your combines.

3. Name the combines you want in your collection but don’t have

1. Winfield Kansas.

2. 1978 New Holland TR 70 Oliver 431 16ft. header 2- Oliver 33’s Oliver 35 Oliver 40 with cab Minneapolis Moline SP 168 Minneapolis Moline Yellow 4296 Rice Special Hydro Minneapolis Moline Red 4296 Rice Special Hydro with Gilcrest “Mud Hog” Minneapolis Moline Uni “L” with factory cab – Combine, Forage Harvester, Picker Husker & Sheller, Inline Hay Baler

Parts combines 2 – Oliver 33’s. 2 – Oliver 35’s. MM SP 168.

3. Minneapolis Moline 5297. Any brand of self leveling Hillside Combine.

I am in WI and have a Deere 105 diesel and two 95's(one diesel) and 2 45's all late model square backs. I parted out a 55 and a 105 and might part one of my 95's. I wish for a hydro 95 & 105 but will just keep the ones I have. A 42 or a 65 square back would be nice as well. Also a 237 picker and a 50 sheller attachment for it. Tom

western Colorado. Have JD 95 squareback with 443 corn head.Still have the first combine(1958 JD 55) I bought in '79. Acctually I bought it back 5 years ago, after it had been 'gone' for almost 20 years. A '46/47 JD 55(first year). It was a 'barn find' from Carbondale/Aspen(CO) area that I saved from the scrappers torch.Probably should have let him have it. LOL. And am currently working on buying a late model JD 55Squareback/313 cornhead.Owned a 45SB/313 cornhead for several years but sold it.No specific 'wants/desires',but any JD x5 series is desireable. However,a McCormickDeereing SP123 combine would be really cool to own.My Dad had one when I was a kid.

Central Kansas. Grew up on JD 55's and 95's. Presently don't own a combine as I farm very little and help my son harvest he has a JD 9600 and 9610 has all the headers for them; 30' rigid, 30' flex, 8 row corn and milo heads. I have been trying to get him to update to at least one JD 9770 but he says not until the grain prices improve. I usually run the 9600. He keeps them in good shape. We harvest several thousand acres.

Mark, Indiana.

MF300 was first followed by
MF510
MF750

I'd not committed suicide by this point and finally saw the light.....MF did
not stand for "Mighty Fine".

Got a IH1460

and last, the CIH 1460 I still have
cvphoto14934.jpg

Central Iowa

Own: McCormick 80, International 82, 1970 403 diesel, early 715 diesel, 2MH, 2M-HD and 234 Corn pickers.

Really want: IH 402, McCormick 181, IH 303, IH 205

In the '70s my dad ran a 303 with a two-row corn head with my uncle that ran a 460 gas with a 234 picker and sheller attachment. Dad would dump on his wagon on the far end of the
field. One year it was so cold that my uncle would pick one way, then ride a round with Dad to warm up in the 303 and then pick the way back. It was slow going, but they were going!

They are some very nice looking machines. I always wanted to find the brackets and put an IH 234 on my Deere 3020. Thanks for posting pics. Tom

Southern Indiana
7720 4x4. (Back up machine or my dad will
use it on corn on the home farm. Has
Trimpe bars and will eat green or weedy
beans.)

9510 4?4
Oliver 2 row ear picker

Dont need any more!!

1. Jim in Saskatchewan, Canada

2. I have a 1979 IH 1460 that I've had for over 22 years and a 1995 Case IH 2166 that I bought this past summer. I kept the 1460 as back-up in case the new one gave trouble but it seemed to do the job with no trouble so I plan on selling the 1460 this summer.

3. Don't plan on buying any more combines, the 2166 will carry me to retirement.

maybe a gleaner m2 or m3 or 1460 case in

Eastern South Dakota

Case-IH 1688 & 2388. Also have an
original red ~1960 Ford 7 foot pull-type
combine. Grandpa had one many years ago
and I finally found this one a couple
years ago in Iowa. It's nearly identical.

Would someday like an older galvanized
tin combine for some reason. McCormick or
whatever.

Southern Indiana. Jd 9500 Machine I want to add is a Claas
lexion 780 but I will continue to wish in one hand and do
something else in the other...

Central MN. 1955 AC SP100, 1955 Model 66 with 2 row corn head. Model 90, co-owned with son. Gleaner M2

1 Saskatchewan, Canada.
2 Case 1680. It has a chaff spreader but no chopper, and I
really need a chopper.
3 Claas 108 / MF 8460. I like them but a little concerned
about parts backup.

southeast Indiana I have had MF 510, MF 750, I now have caseih 1680 and looking to upgrade to a caseih 2388 in a few years.

only old combine I would like to have is one of the Massy-Harris self-propelled for WW-2 era.

really want a yellow 5542 dont know the MM number.
would like to have a 105, 8590 MF or 9700 white, nice N6 or N7, 915 IH, tr 95 and a 1480 I want 30 footers on all the big ones the early eighties are my favorite time for combines. but i know im crazy!

1. Pilot Grove, MO (only crop about 60 acres a year)
2. 1981 Gleaner F2, two 13' flex cutterbar heads, 430A cornhead
1968 Gleaner EIII, 10' rigid head, 330 cornhead
1956? Allis-Chalmers All-Crop 66 Big Bin
???? Woods Brothers 1 row pull-type corn picker
Also have some Gleaner parts heads
3. In the shorter term, maybe a Gleaner F3 with a 315 bean head. Most realistic long term "dream machine" for me with such small acreage would be a late model Gleaner R52 with maybe a 18' flex head and a 630 cornhead. Would also be neat to have an Allis All-Crop 72 pull-type and maybe a 323 or 325 New Idea pull type picker. Don't have shed space for any of these wants now anyway...sigh.

Mike

1. It's obvious from my handle

2. IH 1660

3. Why in the heck would I want more than one combine?

Isn't one enough?

:)

1. Kewaunee, Wisconsin. About 30 miles east of Green Bay on Lake Michigan

2. 1982 John Deere 4420 with a 213 grain head.

3. No other combines as I just combine 30 acres of oats & wheat
cvphoto15325.jpg

S/W MS. Have an AC 72 (not operable basket case) and a Massey-Harris 35 that I'm trying to get going for ryegrass seed this spring. Brother has a JD 4420 with a 13' platform and 4 row corn head. Not sure I want any more...

Ontario , Canada . Kind of a odd bird , 851 MF pull
type. Came originally from Alberta, Canada. Local
dealer buys these old pull types out west, and drags
them back to Ontario to sell to Mennonite farmers.
The Mennonite farmers can have tractors up to 100
hp, but cannot have a self propelled combined, so
they like these. I have harvested with this machine
for the past 7 years, around 80-100 acres each
year.

Ontario Canada.

We have 2 early IH 815's. One with a 407
the other with 414. Two 744 corn heads, one
13' and one 15' grain head. One 820
17'grain. All above are retired and
thinking about scrapping. Still in use IH
1440,17.5' 1020 grain head, 844 corn head.

I've been gone for several days. I check in here and find this posting. My list hasn't changed much. I
did add the 5297 finally.
Who ever started this roll call, thanks about time it was updated.

Dale,

Wow 50 combines. Do you allow visitors? I'm a North Dakota native. Now live in MN. Do travel back to ND for visits. Also really like combines. Drove JD 55 as a young guy. Also a JD No 5A pulltype rigged to control the tractor from the combine - was busy with that outfit!

Ron

Central Indiana here. 1967 ih 303 gas gear drive. 13 foot platform that might need a new home and a new to me late ih 715 hydro diesel and 4 row narrow 843 corn head

I have great grand parents on Dad's side of the family buried in the cemetery just east of Rhodes. The next generation homesteaded in ND.

I know where there is a 2 row Case pull type picker/sheller that you may be interested in. Needs both tires plus several trees cleared to get it out. It's nearby in southern MN.

My email should be open.

No payments on anything. There all old, probably could not sell them for enough to make a payment on a new one

I'm in south Texas. We had a 1969 Case 1665
Special, then a 1982 M2 corn plus and replaced
both with a 1980 N7 in 1987. The Case did the best
job of them all. If I ever replace the N7 it will
probably be with a Case IH. Tony
