Been thinking about the 'new' SB55. Haven't yet decided to or not to. $2000 is a lot of money that I don't have. The old '58 55rb needs work. And one or two tires.Two/three years ago I rebuilt the reel, replaced some belts and did some other things. Then I just kind of dropped it,lost interest. I could do a lot of work for 2000. Doesn't need much in parts, just some time and TLC.Maybe I'd be better off to just fix the old machine, rather buy another.Even if it is a clean late model squareback. All I really need/want it for is for a bit of small grain and soybeans.5 to 10 acres of each. The old 55 also has a cab and 14' platform.Thoughts? Thanks.
