What is a nice 410 worth? 16 foot grain table, no cab. Great condition but hasn?t been out of the shed in 10 years. Would need the belts all
replaced but is great other than that. Has the 292 gas in it. Found it just to use as a little toy. The 9500 will still do the cutting but it will be my
little playtime combine.
 
I see MF diesel 410s only bring $500-1000 IF they are in good shape. MF combines do not have much resale value around here.
 
That?s about what I will have in this one. He has three - two good ones and a parts machine. I can get all three for $2000. I?m not sure why I need more combines but I?m getting old enough to want to ?play? when the majority of the crop is out. I don?t have any interest in mounted pickers but it must be like what the old guys so each year here - this year they had an old crawler pulling them all through the field because of the mud. That?s about where I draw the line. I?ll keep to a 10 acre corner of wheat to cut with old Masseys.
 
It definitely not worth $2,000. Over the years I've seen field ready diesel 510s have trouble breaking $500 at auctions. And if its in nice shape, the belts shouldn't need to be replaced.
 
Not much interest in old combines yet maybe when they are all scrapped and people get tired of looking at tractors sitting in line with 5,000$ paint jobs intrest in old combine will go up . I have always wanted a Massey Ferguson like the 410 . Most people would tell me I?m stupid for putting the amount of money I did into my 7700 but like you I wanted a combine to play on . I did find a neat photo although poor of a 410 advertising brochure

That is cheaper than scrap , You cant lose money ,And we all know there are worse things You could be doing with Your time ,Just dont let it overwhelm You alone and intimidate your enthusiasm .. Tinkering with a combine and getting a harvest in with a resurrected machine can be fun and very rewarding . Especially if You find a motivated buyer while it is harvesting in the field .You can triple your money like I did .
