Good afternoon everyone
I was looking out my office window and seen the
960 hydro that I picked up in Arkansas last spring
It is patiently waiting it’s turn to be brought back to life
It’s the only one I’ve ever seen so I was wondering if anyone
Knows how many were sold
Did they have other models with hydro
If anyone has any info it would be great to know
Thanks in advance
Dugger

Case also made a 1060 with a hydro. I talked with someone who said he saw one sale at Dewitt's Auction in Sikeston, MO years ago. He
thought that it was a rice machine or at least it was from Arkansas.

The 960 I have is a rice special
It’s kind of rough but I think the main box is the same
The drive axle and transmission looks like it could be
From a bigger machine
I think I can take a couple machines and fix it up
The grain tank is the slanted bottom one
Still has the same slant six Chrysler

I was told there was 1060 and 1660 combines
with hydro transmissions but have never
seen one in person. Sure would of been nice
in soybeans.

Yes it would have been
I can’t wait to get the old girl up and going but got three
In the shop to do first plus the finishing touches on my 1010 that
Ande helped me get
Is there any way to find out how many they sold

They made a few 1060 hydros in 1967,, they used a cheap hydro system in them and they did not work long, 99% were changed out to belt drive, they did test and have ready to go a hyrdo for the 1660's replacement that was scrapped when they dropped production in 1970,, no 1660's ever were sold with it, the 960 rice hydro was the real deal and worked very well I was told,, now I know where the one I tried to buy went I missed it by a day lol

960 hydro's? sorry I have no info on them but they did make them two full years 69 and 70 I have seen both years in the Rice sp's I would have to say pretty low production though,, maybe 200-300 total if that but again thats just a guess, I was told they were going to release the hydro option in the grain versions in 71 had they not dropped combine production in 1970,, if I had of had any say in ordering machines then I would have made sure we got a sp in when the closeout program came in early 1970 and set it up for small grains,,
