CIH 1063 gearbox seals

I need to replace some of the oil seals on the gearboxes, do they install from the outside or does the gearbox have to be disassembled to replace them?Or can I just use cornhead grease in them?

I've done top (gathering chain) and front (roll) in place but are difficult to get out . I check oil level more often when some are leaking
and add 85 -140,often a year or more until they get very bad . Never tried grease only.

I use cornhead grease in my header gearboxes, no problems....yet.
