Some Fox forage harvesters in WI

Some Foxes for sale near me - not affiliated with them, but odd to see so many this early in the year.

Not my preference of the Fox machines, lol. None of my parts hoard fits either of them.

The first ad is for a Fox 6200 chopper and a IH 105 combine. The chopper only has 805hours.

Fox 6200 and IH 105 combine:

The second chopper is a Fox 6350 with rear wheel drive.

Are the Fox choppers any good? I've never seen a self propelled in person before and know nothing about them. Never have seen one in my area before. I only know of one Fox pull type that is left around. I'm not a 100% sure it is still in use or not.

Good for their time, but old and slow by todays standards. Parts are harder to get, and most models lack the provision for a kernal processor. The later models had provision for one - more like a forage mill than the roll type that is common today.

I have 2 self propelled machines - very stout, and simple to work on. Just fine, if you have the time for them. Just like most things.

The 6200 model was sold as the ?budget? machine .
A pal of mine has a 6250 - had the new style heads. I really dont care for working on that series (6200, 6250, 6350), as it is rather tight all around. Nice thing about them is that the cutterhead is easy to get to from ground level. They shared most all cutting components with the pull types.

Good machines - hope someone buys them.

Pretty sure I know who has the one in Mishicot. He sold his cows last year so probably no use for it any more. But you should know who has the 6200 and the IH 105 in Stangelville. I think he had the 105 combine for sale last year. Al

You knew, I do not remember that 105 from last year - does not ring any bells. I usually remember any small red ones around, lol.

Yes, WG&R bought the old Fox plant site - I just drove past it on Saturday, the 31st of march. Sad to see it go - sad to see small farming disappear as well, I guess. It is all about corporate volume - ask any Amazon shopper. Just had to buy 2 of whatever, since it was so cheap! And free shipping, lol.

WG&R is VERY afraid of Amazon - have a few friends that work there. This new site is supposedly part of them trying to re-structure and be more competitive, and be highly visible from the 41 corridor. I would imagine it will be IKEA-ish in design and layout.

I did summer help WAY back in the day at WG&R - did deliveries. Sectional sleeper sofas are VERY heavy, lol.

I texted the guy about the 6200 open station that's a rare machine because most of them had cabs but this one came from factory as open station serial numbers say it was one of the first ones produced but it is his older uncles and they priced it at 7500. Too much for me auction market would be more around 4500-5000 the 6350 is a different story. Last one I saw sell was in PA 6 months ago on auction and it brought around 8500 they handle the 3 row head better than the 62s because of the increased horse power of the v-8 perkins vs the in-line 6 of the 62 both weight around 10500 lbs base machine no possible way to install a processor on these machines Only machine they produced elgilble for processor was the 6650 and the 3 models of the 60 series which only a few were made. Alot of 6650s still going though. Either way top of the line for their time. I have 4 fox machines all feild ready

Some one must have bought it - the ad has been down for a
week or two now.

The 6350 is still up - I do wonder what he is asking for it.
