6620 Variable Speed Fan

The Variable Speed Fan ranges from 272-965 RPM on a John Deere 6620 however for some crops a fan speed of 1000, or 1100 is required. Is there any modifications that can be made to achieve a higher speed?
 
A worn belt will prevent you from getting max speed. Measure its thickness and compare with a new one.
 
My belt was a little worn so I put a new belt on but my combine is still only getting a maximum fan speed of 850 rpm. Any other suggestions?
 
Check the outer half of the adjusting pully. The bearing rides a hub on the outside of that pulley. It is not uncommon for that hub to be worn out and then it will not push the pulleys together far enough to get top speed. When everything is correct you should be able to get the belt clear to the top of the drive pulley.
The sheave half part numbers is AH173724. If you look it up on wwwjdparts you can find it by this number or look on the secondary counter shaft.
