Great pictures, it may help getting pictures like this to save them from the torch. Wish I was closer, would like to save one myself!

great old iron pic,s what part of the country are they. Sitting outside here in se michigan they would be junk in 10 yrs or so. Keep posting those old pic,s thanks Randall

Great Pics, Blaine. And great to see you back on the list.

So how does that John Deere model keep level? I assume the Case ones used a hydraulic system but the ship's wheel on the Deere looks like it might predate hydraulic systems. Was this a job for strong young lads? :)

Curious minds...

Thanks

From one Blaine to another I will say that you have been posting
some great pictures. The Palouse area would sure be a great place
to collect old combines.

I beleive the level system is a gear and worm gear on both machines. To raise the header on the J.D. 36 it uses the ships wheel and counter weights. My grandpa had one of those J.D. 36's and a case, but that was a little before my time.I think the case had hydralics on the header.

What are you looking for?I think he will part with some of the stuff.I'm trying to get the J.D. across the street to my Mom and Dads. He's a little hard to deal with wants more than it's worth. But he's getting up there in age,so maybe he'll come around.I know where some J.D. 33's or 36's are setting if you looking for some of them.

I'm in Spokane ,Washington the combines I know of are in Odessa,WA.The gentleman that has them on the scab land needs to move them. The land is up for sale. I'm afraid he's going to get the flame wrench after them.(torch) If I can get the neighbors I might pick one up for parts. There was three of them sitting there. They all looked fairly complete one even had the controls to run the machine from the tractors.Hope you can save one from the scrape monster. Thanks BlaineF

It must have been in 1996, I saw a Case threshing machine and other equipment north of Steamboat Springs, CO. The snow was about five feet deep and the temp was in the single digits. I wanted to get back there to take pictures, but never did. I wonder what happened to that old iron. I hope a collector got them.
