Allis All-Crop 66

Just got a Allis Chalmers All-Crop 66 today at auction. Dang thing looks like it has hardly had much through it and been shedded all its life. Only thing it needs is the augar drive belt and a new draper......the main one.......if I could figure out how to post a picture I would post a few of it.............got it for 200 and felt like I did alright.......

Sounds like a good deal, would love to have one but all i see at auctions are pieces of junk. Saw a beautiful 66 with scour screen today at a parade that was just pulled out of a barn along with a ih 80 for the parade. Best guess was 20 plus years in the barn. Both were real nice.

As I have spent a day looking this over I have come to the conclusion this machine has not had very much ran through it. For one the sickles still have paint on them and the concaves and cylinder bars look almost new. Also the straw walkers still have paint on them. and the inside of the straw case still has most of the paint on it......

what intriques me is the fact it has a straw chopper on it........I can't find reference to it anywhere but it apears to be factory........they must have ran it or stored it with the straw discharge door up as it is rusted out......weird as that is the only rust on the whole machine.even the cylinder area has no rust along with the tailings auguar. All doors on the auguars are rust free too........Iposted one pic on the implement photo section and will do a couple more...........what do you all think?

Nice looking rig and a good price, too.

You mention in the photos that it is a 1957 model but it appears to be older than this. The unloading auger in the front indicates the small bin version of the 66 which were only made in '53 and '54. Later 66's, like my '56 model, had a larger grain bin with the unloading auger coming out the side.

Where in Kansas are you from? I'm SE of McPherson.

Serial Number is B18850 Not sure when it was made but the book that came with it (yep they had the original manual) was in a manila envelope dated July 8th 1957........that is why I assumed a 57 model but I know nothing of the years of these machines so I am probably wrong........

he must have had to order a new book then..........I must say for being built in 1953 it sure is nice.........did they make a corn head for the 66?

It is a All Crop 60, not a 66. The 60 has the auger in front of the bin, 66 out the side with a longer auger. 60 has a 5 foot cut, 66 has a 6 foot cut. Nice machine.

it is an early 66.........they had the auger in the front of the bin like the 60's...........and besides it has the original decals that say 66, the sickle measures 66 inches and the serial number has the B in front...........so it is a 66 just an early production model...........thank you it is a very nice original 66 and with just a draper iw will run.............all bearings are tight and everything else is in great shape..............can't wait to get it running.............sure wish I had some kind of fall crop in the ground though......oh well maybe I can get some ground ready for wheat next year..........

AC made about 1500 two row wide heads for the 66 and others. I have seen only one in person, don"t believe that it is for sale.

the first model 66 had the small bin and did not have B in front of the serial number the B came after the big bin came out

this must be the 66 that sold a harley gerdes sale. i agree with the others that you did alright. if it is the same combine, i noticed it had rubber faced cylinder bars. was that common on allis combines. never had one myself

Yep that is the one........I did not get much chance to look over at auction and was actually at my top for it.......but Darwin stopped bidding and I got it........
