Hi all,
Got the JD #7 combine home this past Monday. It came from Farmersville, IL; just south of Springfield. The gentleman who I bought it from had it for about 10 years or so; he's now just a few days shy of 87. Originally the machine came from Kansas, he restored it and has used it to harvest about 5 acres of wheat every year until the past year.
The trip went real well, loaded it on Thursday; got up to the Chicago area on Friday and found a JD dealer where I parked the trailer for the weekend. I had a conference in Chicago over the weekend; so that worked well.
There was a little snow on Saturday; but by Sunday night it was cold, around 0 and the roads were perfect. So I hooked up to it about 7:00 Sunday night and drove until getting home 5:00 Monday morning. It was a long pull, but traffic was light, the roads were good, and the scales were closed so didn't want to shut it down!
It's unloaded and in the shed, and there's a blizzard here today; so I'm happy.

The last picture was the December 08 issue of Little Green, which is the combine being used to harvest 80 bushel wheat.
