Nice pics mike the plume of smoke from the L2 is unmistakeable. That is still my favorite oldie I'd love to have one but it would need a bunk and shower to live in because my wife would toss me out on my ear. I take it by your handle your an Axial Flow man now. :->

dont understand how/why any combine from the 70's is an "oldie" old combines to me are from the 40's, 50's. & im 34 yrs old. many from the 70's are still farmed with every day.

First picture is our 1644 that we got in the fall of 1996, very good machine.

Traded for this 1998 2366 in 2005, another good reliable machine.

gtx, when it comes to big combines it's what have you done for me lately?? The new generation machines make the 30 year old machines ancient I'm over 60 years old and have never seen the advances in farm equipment go so quickly and probably in your lifetime you'll see it go even quicker. I can say that I have had the pleasure of running the 2300 series Case/Ih a few rounds and it is a sweet machine I was just having flashbacks of running the L2 and L3 in heavy corn and in it's day a sweet machine.
