N5 Gleaner coming up for sale. Would like to know if it is a good machine and what would be a resonable price to bid. Thank you

They were either loved or hated..... .

The first ones out of the plant needed about 100 little updates to make tham as good as those a couple years into production. _Most_ had these upgrades, but something to watch for.

Neighbor ran one for almost 20 years - with an 8 row corn head in our 150-200 bu corn!

Depends on what year it is, early production had problems, about 3 years after intro they had fixed all the problems and it became a good machine. They can be "hyperized" for amazing capacity.

Wasn't that the first one to come out, the one that needed all the updates? I'd rather stay with a conventional. Little less capacity in the field on a machine that keeps running still gets more done than one that is in the shop. Sort of like my 1960 Corvair!
