John Deere Yanmar Parts

I have a front deck John Deere F935 mower with a Yanmar 3TNA72UJ engine that needs rebuilt. Bad injector washed down the #2 cylinder so I need oversize pistons and rings as well as a gasket set. I talked with a local small engine shop and they said the only place they know of for parts is John Deere dealers. Is there any others dealers that might be a little less costly?

I went through the same thing with my F915 when it was rebuilt, I had to purchase the pistons from a Deere Dealer.

What I was told was Deere was a SSO (Self-servicing organization.) They have a legal agreement with Yanmar (and Kawasaki, for that matter) that requires Yanmar not to sell parts for Deere equipment except through Deere & Co.

That same agreement is why any new Yanmar tractors you see in the US are not 100% legal. They have been shipped in here by some way other than the regular Yanmar distribuition network and they violate that agreement.
